Dialogue is king...anyone working in sound for film, TV, podcasting or online content will be farmiliar with the phrase. Clean, intelligible speech is the essential foundation for an immersive soundscape. In 2026, when technology and A.I models are seemingly advancing daily, it can be a struggle to keep up with which new tools are worth investing in. Today on the 344 Academy blog, we’re hoping to help narrow that down a bit, by taking a look at the new and improved Extract:Dialogue 2.

Company: Acon Digital

Product: Extract:Dialogue 2

Price: £79 (On sale for £63 at time of writing)

Our Rating: 5/5

TL;DR — Quick Summary

Acon Digital’s Extract:Dialogue 2 is a major AI upgrade for speech clean-up across film, TV, podcasts and online content. It uses new models to separate voice, noise and reverb with far greater accuracy, offering independent volume, sensitivity and EQ control for each element. This lets editors fix dialogue fast, blend ADR seamlessly, and achieve results comparable to tools like RX and DXrevive, but with almost no learning curve. The redesigned interface improves speed and clarity, and performance tests show high-quality clean-up in minutes. At £79, it’s a cost-effective, professional-grade AI tool for any dialogue-heavy workflow.

Overview:

Acon Digital has a proven track record of delivering high quality, easy to use software & plug-ins. Extract:Dialogue 2 is no different. In a market saturated by A.I powered products, Acon has again focused on using the power of their latest models to implement and improve the most requested user features that focus on improving speed, accuracy and flexibility.

In Their Own Words:

“Already a staple amongst countless post professionals for its transparency and ease of use, Extract:Dialogue 2 builds on the success of the original Extract Dialogue, adding major new features including reverb reduction, EQ editing per channel and true stereo processing. Version 2 takes everything that made the first plugin popular and pushes it much further, combining the latest cutting-edge AI with new precision controls professionals have been asking for.”

Key Features & Benefits:

The biggest addition to Extract:Dialogue 2 is the ability to independently control not only the volume, but the sensitivity and E.Q for the Voice, Reverb & Noise channels. Depending on the severity of the issues facing your dialogue, you can get amazing results within minutes by only adjusting the volume controls. Which is testament to the improved abilities of Acon’s latest A.I Models to accurately identify, and separate voice from reverb and noise.

This plug-in really shines once you spend a little time tweaking the sensitivity and E.Q. When viewing the Sensitivity panel for any of the channels, you not only have control over the amount of processing that's happening, but also which parts of the frequency spectrum it’s happening to. Allowing you to affect very specific frequencies or problems, whilst leaving the rest intact. And when you're viewing the E.Q panel, you can shape the tonal quality of the noise and reverb separately to the voice. Having the ability to E.Q the voice independently to the reverb and noise is a game changer. If used correctly it can seamlessly blend Production with ADR (with the potential for it to eliminate the need for some ADR given its clean-up capabilities), and is one of the key features that allows Extract:Dialogue 2 to produce results that stand up alongside products such as DXrevive and Izotope RX.

On the visual side of things, Extract:Dialogue 2 features an updated interface design which is a welcome change (as I felt some of their previous interfaces looked a little outdated). The sleek new look, paired with colour coded controls make it easy to identify what each of the controls are, and what channel they relate to as you're switching between them. The scaleable window is also a nice touch, especially for those who like to have multiple plug-ins open whilst processing. Even at the smallest size, you lose the sensitivity/EQ panel, but you still have the major features available and clearly visible. Whilst the mostly dark colour scheme allows it to fit in with other commonly used plug-ins, the clever colour choices of the 3 channels, plus Acon’s signature yellow allow it to be easily identifiable in the crowd.

What It’s Useful For:

For the most part, Extract:Dialogue 2 is going to be used to clean up, enhance or restore dialogue for Film, TV, Podcasts or Online Content. However, there are some niche areas that could also benefit from its use. Such as recovering old recordings or archive interviews/footage, and removing un-wanted voice content out of field recordings.

We tested Extract:Dialogue 2 on parts of a feature film and documentary dialogue tracks, alongside some recordings captured specifically for this review. In less than 10 minutes, we replicated almost indistinguishable results from what we previously had using a mixture of RX Voice De-noise, Acon Extract:Dialogue and dxRevive Pro. You can hear some snippets of our tests below.

The Bottom Line

Acon Digital have put the direct input of industry professionals to great use by identifying not only the areas of their (and others) plug-ins that need improvement, but which areas DON’T need improvement. Allowing them to innovate where its needed most, and build a product that clearly has the user experience and efficiency at the forefront of their mind. Whether you’re working on low budget short films, TV Broadcasts, or Hollywood blockbusters, with almost no learning curve, high-quality results in a very short amount of time, and the potential to save production costs on ADR, even at full price…Extract:Dialogue 2 is a must have (and quite a steal) for audio editors.

Extract:Dialogue 2 is available as VST, VST3 AAX and AU.
